Dear Neighbors and Friends,
One of the best descriptions I’ve heard recently about 2020 is “somebody forgot to eat their black-eyed peas and ham last New Year” I know we’ve all are glad to see the year coming to a close but there’s still time to create some new holiday memories with our loved ones. For this month’s newsletter I want to focus on a few things that can improve Southlake and get us ready for a quick start in 2021.
First, we all should be receiving shortly a package from our new management company, CMA, telling us about their company and providing the invoice for your annual assessment or association dues. Once you receive that package, please sign up for an account at CMA’s website using the temporary password provided in the letter. Our Southlake website and the CMA website will be the only two official sources of Southlake information. The old TownSquare application used by our former manager won’t work after January 1. If you don’t receive the CMA package please send us an email from this website and we will work to make sure you receive one.
Second, there’s a lot of debris on our curbs left from the tropical storm that struck our area in November. The City of Hoover is working hard to remove the debris placed at the curb by HOMEOWNERS. They will not pick debris placed at the curb by CONTRACTORS. You can find more information about this in the City of Hoover’s annual leaf brochure you should have received in the mail or at http://www.hooveral.org/Faq.aspx?QID=254. While you are at the Hoover web site sign up for the My Hoover Connect Application. It is the best way to request any service from the City of Hoover.
Finally, one of our Directors, Robin Rich from the Cottages Neighborhood has resigned due to the effort of a full-time job and caring for an ill mother. Robin has done a great job representing the Cottages, and we wish her well. If any Cottages resident is interested in filling Robin’s position until the end of her term, please email us at southlakedirectors@gmail.com .
The end of 2020 also marks the end of the first full year of this website and our monthly newsletters. Thanks to everyone who has signed up as a user and taken to time to read (and respond) to the news and information. Please tell your neighbors this is the best way to receive Southlake updates. The Southlake Board of Directors is looking forward to a productive 2021 in spite of the challenges we all face.
Happy Holidays!
