March 2021 Newsletter

Dear Southlake Neighbors,

Spring is beginning to appear in Southlake! Our favorite Southlake resident swans, Rambo and Rambette, have been sighted on Indian Valley during the past few weeks. Click here to learn more about Rambo & Rambette on our website.

With Spring comes flowers and landscaping for the Southlake common areas. As we promised last month, your Board of Directors and the Southlake Business Association have chosen a new landscaping contactor, SpyGrass Innovations, Inc. This choice also allows us to consolidate all of our landscape maintenance work with one company instead of the four (4) we were previously using. Please watch for major improvements on Southlake Parkway and Lake Valley Dr., including the removal of many Parkway trees which are currently marked with red and yellow ribbons.

In December all residents should have received invoices from our management company, CMA, for 2021 assessments. This is how our neighborhood pays for streetlights, landscaping etc. These payments were due on January 1 and delinquent after February 10. Reminder letters to the residents who have not paid were mailed on March 17 and demand letters will be mailed in early April. If you do not pay before the demand letters are prepared, a demand letter fee of $25 will be added to your account. Additional collection efforts with associated costs will follow. The demand letter fee and collection costs cannot be waived. If you have not paid your 2021 assessment, please do so now.

Last month you should have received a letter from CMA containing a ballot for new members of the Board of Directors and a question about a sidewalk along Southlake Parkway. Please return that ballot to CMA as soon as possible. The letter also announced that our 2021 annual meeting will be held virtually on Tuesday, April 20 at 6:30 pm. Before the time for the meeting please register at https://tinyurl.com/24ukmp4

Finally, many of you may have received a letter or seen signs advertising the “Nextdoor” app implying that Nextdoor was the “official” Southlake app. THIS IS INCORRECT! There is NO official Southlake app. Our only neighborhood endorsed communication methods are through www.southlakehoover.com and https://cmacommunities.com/properties/southlake-residential-assn/

Thanks for your patience in reading this far. As always, if you have questions or comments about how we can do a better job please email us at southlakedirectors@gmail.com.

Sincerely,
