Dear Southlake Neighbors,
Summer is half over and many of us are looking forward to schools and sports starting up. As I write this, it appears that the number positive tests and hospitalizations for COVID are starting to level off in Alabama which would mean that we can look forward to more businesses and events being open this fall. I’m particularly interested in being able to visit with our 9 grandchildren again.
As you know, we had to cancel our annual meeting this year due to concerns regarding COVID. We are already planning for our annual meeting April 202, please watch these blog posts for updates and information. Thank you to everyone who voted in our annual Board of Directors election in June. The Directors who were elected to new 3-year terms are:
Lynn Phillips, representing The Crest
Robin Rich, representing The Cottages
Doug Clark, representing The Estates
We still have a vacant position representing The Estates which the Board of Directors can fill until next year. If any Estates resident is interested in joining the Board, please email us at southlakedirectors@gmail.com with that interest. Our nominating committee will get in touch with you.
At the July Board of Directors meeting, new Board officers and committee chairpersons were elected. A list of these can be found by clicking here. If anyone is interested in serving on one or more of our committees please let us know with an email to southlakedirectors@gmail.com .
Finally, many of you have probably noticed that our irrigation system on the Parkway has not been operating this year. This was due to 2 large leaks on pipeline that feeds the system along Southlake Parkway. I’m happy to report that as of July 23 both leaks have been repaired and Naturescape, Inc. should be starting up the system during the week of July 27. Thanks for your patience.
Please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions.
We hope that you enjoy your summer,
