Dear Southlake Neighbors,
Most residential and business associations, like ours, contract with an association manger to help them manage the property and advise them on how best to enforce the association covenants and rules. Southlake (both Residential and Business) have used Associa (formerly McKay) to perform these duties for over 20 years. In July, the Southlake Business Association approached The Southlake Residential Association Board with the idea that it was time to investigate the association management marketplace and determine what was best for both associations.
Together, we requested bids from five management companies, recommended to the Board by other communities or our residents. We received four bids and interviewed each of them via Zoom in September. Both, Southlake Residential Association & Southlake Business Association selected Community Management Associates, Inc. (CMA) as the best fit for our needs. Over the next couple of months, we will be sharing more information about CMA. However, if you want to learn more now, please visit their website at www.cmacommunities.com
One important feature of the new agreement is that CMA will be taking greater responsibility for enforcement of our covenants and managing the architectural review process. While the Southlake Residential Board of Directors will continue to be in control of these important functions, CMA will take on more of the day-to-day responsibility for ensuring these processes are completed fairly and quickly. In addition, The Southlake Residential Association Board will be depending on CMA to advise the best ways to reduce our maintenance backlogs and improve the performance of the contractors who maintain the Parkway and other common spaces.
Please watch for more of these emails and blog posts as we work with CMA to improve Southlake.
Thank you,
Lynn Phillips, President
Southlake Residential Association
